Follow in the footsteps of some of the greatest minds in history. DaVinci, Newton, and Einstein have nothing on you! Join us as we experiment and build systems and simple machines that can send small items (or maybe even a classmate!) FLYING.
Teen Apprenticeship Program (TAP)
Engineering, Leadership & Design
TAP provides high school students with a dynamic learning experience, providing a laboratory-style classroom for simulated work-related experiences to support fellow nonprofits and offer real-life on-site practical experience. Students can earn valuable certifications (CPR/AED/First Aid and OSHA) over the course of the program, while exploring career fields of design, construction, manufacturing, fabrication, and engineering.

The Teen Apprenticeship
Y.E.S Worker (Youth Engagement Specialist)
Teens serve as Youth Engagement Specialists in Camp Fit and Fun, a summer program developed in collaboration with Neighborhood Health Plan of RI to engage and serve families and children from high poverty communities in RI. This free program educates school age children about the importance of healthy minds and bodies through sports, play and active recreation.

Harley LaValley
Program Manager / harley@cdlri.org
Harley serves as the CTE Program manager for CDL. He joined the company as a volunteer in 2018 for the Teen Apprenticeship Program. Since joining CDL, Harley has been cross-trained in youth development, arts literacy and STEM. He teaches a variety of classes from Weird Science to Books Alive. In his capacity as CTE Program Manager, he oversees the team implementation of TAP.
